Recently my friend found a caterpillar
in the garden at St. Jane House. In the past couple of years, I have found myself more and more drawn to the beauty of butterflies and the miracle of life they represent. Wanting to witness firsthand the transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly, I placed her in a lantern designed to hold a candle. Within days the transformation began, and two weeks later, a beautiful Mourningcloak butterfly emerged from the cocoon. It was a beautiful thing to witness!
